The following links lead to lists of all the fish and other sea creatures for which I have made molds—over 500 items. Most of the fish replicas are made with molds that go around ¾ of the fish, leaving a flat area on the back. They are suitable for most wall mount and diorama presentations. Some of the replicas of flatfish, skates, rays, and sculpins are made to sit on the ocean floor.
The fish are available in a choice of two materials—Hydrostone and Polyurethane.
Hydrostone is an inexpensive plaster based material which is easy to work with, non toxic, and takes the paint well; however, it is heavy, chips easily, and is shipped with a great deal of trepidation. Preferably fish made of this material are picked up at my shop.
Polyurethane has many advantages. It is lightweight, very strong, permits thin fins, and allows much more freedom with the shape and posture of the fish. However it is much more expensive, difficult to work with, and dramatically shortens the life of the molds.
All the prices listed are for museum quality fish. They are made with extreme attention to detail and carefully painted with acrylic paints.
Prices are somewhat elastic.
