My earliest memory of William is of him riding a bicycle. But of course it wasn’t just a regular old bicycle. It was a bicycle that had seats for what must have been eight passengers. I was only about three or four years old, but I certainly remember there being seats up front, on the sides, and on the back. Kids were hanging on everywhere! At that point I couldn’t ride a two wheel bike on my own, but I remember watching, from a seat up front, how William carefully moved the handlebars back and forth to balance us all as we rode back and forth on the path outside the front door. I went home that day and told my parents to take the training wheels off my bike. I knew I could do it on my own now. And sure enough I did. Whether he knew it or not, William taught me to ride a bike. A life skill, a memory, and a person that will never be forgotten.
