I first met Bill when he had his shop in the annual Studio Tour. I was so taken with his unique talent and the perfection of his art, that I immediately brought my husband Bill to see it. The men hit it off immediately and talked about fish for far too long. Bill’s studio became our go-to place to take out-of-town visitors, all of whom were dazzled by his work. As a result, there are Van Orden pieces in Florida, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, carried there by our friends. Bill was a wonderful man with a big heart and a big talent.
